Why we Build our Fundraising Partnerships Differently

Can we talk about the part of fundraising nobody puts on the cute little event poster?

The WORK. 😂

The planning.
The supplies.
The setup.
The emails.
The logistics.
The “OMG, did we remember everything?”
And somehow still having to actually run the event.

Which is exactly why we built our fundraising partnerships at Paint for Joy a little differently.

We want nonprofits to earn more from their fundraisers without having to take on all the work of running one.

Here’s a real example, because I’m a big believer in showing the receipts:

🎨 29 guests
🎟️ $30 per ticket
💰 $870 in total ticket sales
🧾 $89.44 in direct event expenses
💰 $780.56 net revenue

The nonprofit received $365.

Paint for Joy received $415.56.

That means the nonprofit walked away with almost 47% of the net revenue.

Pretty darn close to 50/50.

And here's what makes me REALLY happy about those numbers:

They didn't have to do all the work.

We handled the painting supplies.

We handled the setup.

We handled the logistics.

We handled teaching the class.

We handled running the event.

We created the experience.

They got to focus on their supporters, their mission and raising money.

Because here's the thing:

If your fundraising strategy is basically:

“Hey volunteers, here's another event you need to organize…” …you might want to rethink the strategy.

Because volunteers are already busy.

Nonprofits are already stretched.

And nobody needs another fundraiser that secretly requires 47 emails, three spreadsheets and a minor emotional breakdown. 😂

The goal isn't necessarily to do MORE fundraising.

It's to create better fundraising partnerships.

Partnerships where the organization can earn more from their fundraisers, their supporters have an experience they genuinely want to attend, and the business partner handles the heavy lifting.

That's the kind of win-win we're building at Paint for Joy.

Because raising money for a great cause should feel good.

Not like you need a vacation after organizing the fundraiser.

If you're a nonprofit, charity, school, rescue or community organization in Edmonton and area and you're looking for a fun fundraising event that can help you earn more without adding more work, let's talk.

We'll bring the paint.

You bring your people.
